NHL Looks Into Incident With Adam Mair

Buffalo Named Host for 2010-11 IIHF World Junior Championships

SABRES.NHL.COM:

USA Hockey announced today it has selected the Buffalo Sabres and HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y., as the host for the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Under-20 Championship (commonly referred to as the IIHF World Junior Championship).

Buffalo Sabres - #1 (Previously #4): The Sabres move into our top spot after another strong week from Thomas Vanek (tied for the league lead with seven goals) and goalie Ryan Miller (1.45 GAA is fourth in the NHL). Their special teams also have been outstanding, allowing just one PPG in 30 TSH.

8:00 ET. Sabres looking to continue their recent success as they roll into Minnesota to face the Wild. Vanek had his goal streak snapped on Tuesday (if you don’t count the game-winning shootout goal) but should get back on track tonight.

Sabres vs. Bruins

The Sabres are coming off of a shootout loss to Atlanta over the weekend, but have started the season on fire nonetheless. Tonight they host division rival Boston, at 7:00 on Versus. Should be interesting to see if Vanek can keep up his torrid pace with 7 goals through 5 games.

Bills Approaching Critical Stretch

October 20, 2008

Over the course of the next three weeks, the Bills will face every opponent in their division (@ Dolphins, Jets, @ Patriots). This stretch is crucial. If the Bills can make it through those three weeks at least 2-1, then they will be sitting pretty in the AFC East with a comfortable lead. With the losses of Miami and NY this weekend (and hopefully a New England loss tonight), the Bills couldn’t be in a better position.

I smell playoffs…
