Boom.
BOOM….there it is, and I like it! The Seinfeld stuff was goofy and made people aware of the campaign and this starts the “Life Without Walls” campaign. Think about it though, and I brought this up when it was first announced that Microsoft was looking for agencies for this campaign…Windows runs our lives, and the people in ads show this, of course it should be displayed in the creative. I’m a fan of this and hopefully this campaign keeps getting better and better.
Seinfeld is out (for now) of Microsoft’s windows campaign. Starting tonight they will spoof a “PC” look-a-like, i believe during Grey’s Anatomy. So i guess i will have to watch that show.

People at Microsoft say this was planned, and to only have Seinfeld launch the campaign….that is up for debate, but i know many people didn’t like the campaign. I actually enjoyed them, probably because i knew they were coming. Anyways, it will be interesting to see how they attack the Apple ads. Below is the summary from NY Times yesterday.
The latest version of Crispin Porter’s Windows campaign has just been released. This time, Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld are living with a “real” family. This version is 4:30 minutes long, which makes me thing what part will end up on tv. The video overall is pretty funny, it all comes back to Gates letting Seinfeld know that Microsoft has something like a “goldfish with a website” and then making fun of himself by doing the robot. This along with the original tv ad have my attention and i am looking forward to what they have in store.
After months of speculations on what they are going to do, who is going to be in them, etc, etc. Crispin Porter & Bogusky has released their first ad for the $300 Million campaign for Microsoft. The minute and a half ad ran last night during the NFL Kickoff game between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins.
I have been waiting for this campaign for months, literally. But was this it??? Now this is probably Crispin being Crispin and only the start of things to come, but when I found out Microsoft awarded the account to Crispin, i couldnt wait to see what they came up with so i could be blown away. And now i’m worried that they are trying to boil the ocean here. I hope my gut feeling is wrong and they turn peoples opinions of Microsoft on their heads, because anyone who can make the Burger King cool, and Bill Gates shake his hips has to be doing something right…..right?
I haven’t been up to date with my ads lately, but I saw this one last night and had to put it up. The campaign (created by Fallon, Minnesota) has been around for a while and I am big fan of it. Also, it’s written about in “Juicing the Orange” a book about some of Fallon’s campaigns, which is a great read. I love the guy at the end.
One day this will eventually happen in my office, and I can only dream that I am there on that faithful day. An oldie but a goodie. Reebok should pushed to be more involved.
