Here it is 1:30 ET, over an hour away from the start of the Draft, and we already know the Top 4-5 picks. Since ESPN has so much time to kill before the 3:00 ET start time, why not get all the inside info on who teams are picking? Bullsh*t. At this point we already know the top 5 picks will be as follows:
1. Dolphins - Jake Long
2. Rams - Chris Long
3. Falcons - Matt Ryan
4. Raiders - Darren McFadden
5. Chiefs - Glenn Dorsey (this hasn’t been confirmed yet but ESPN claims the Chiefs were looking to trade the pick unless Dorsey was available so read between the lines).
Where is all the suspense that makes Draft Day so great? By the time 3:00 rolls around we’ll probably know the Top 10 picks. Why bother watching? If the Draft started at noon, the only confirmed pick would be Jake Long. It’s like knowing all of your Christmas presents a week in advance. Where’s the fun in that? So here’s to the NFL and ESPN for dropping the ball by delaying the Draft and ruining all of the early suspense.
